September 23rd, 7:30 at Verizon Hall

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, astrophysicist and author, brings his lecture "An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies - II" to Philadelphia. A sequel to his popular “An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies,” this new lecture covers an entirely different group of thirty films and tv shows, from The Wizard of Oz to Mary Poppins to Game of Thrones to Harry Potter to The Lion King. Experience an entertaining and enlightening review of all the science that our favorite movies got wrong combined with some of the stuff they got right. This evening with America’s best known astrophysicist incorporates the latest films as well as some classics that you may not have known had any science in them at all.

He is the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History, where he has served since 1996.
