An Evening With Sean Patrick Cooper

Tuesday, April 30th, at 6:30 PM

Please join us for An Evening With Sean Patrick Cooper as he discusses his book, The Shooter at Midnight. Joining Cooper will be Mattathias Schwartz, a journalist for the New York Times.

About the Book

The Shooter at Midnight is page-turning true crime. It details a murder investigation in a small Missouri farming town in the 1990s. On a cold November night, an intruder entered Cathy and Lyndel Robertson’s home outside the small farming town of Chillicothe, Missouri. Leaving a safe full of cash undisturbed, the person snuck into the main bedroom and fired at point-blank range, killing Cathy and injuring Lyndel. After the slapdash police investigation ran out of resources, the case was turned over to a Kansas City private eye with his own aims. The wrong man would end up with four life sentences, and the initial and most promising suspect—the boyfriend of Cathy and Lyndel’s eldest daughter—would largely be forgotten.
