A poetry workshop open to writers of all genres led by Montgomery County Poet Laureate 2014 Celebrity Judge J.C. Todd
Figurative language is basic to all imaginative writing. How do you develop poetic figures: image, metaphor, simile, metonymy? How can they enlarge what you write? Explode it, pop it, morph it, torque it, travel through time with it? We’ll use close reading to explore the effects of figurative language and prompts to launch 3 or 4 new creative pieces.
If you wish to, bring 1 visual image (print or digital) or mental image that fascinates you although you are not sure why.
